There is no denying the fact that UK consumers have been feeling the financial pinch over recent years. However, economic conditions may be on the up, and this could have a positive impact on the country’s hospitality sector.
In order to help ensure they are able to capitalize on any improvement in the industry, restaurants may have to pull out all the stops. Diners are a discerning bunch these days, and they expect the very best food, drink and service.
To improve the look of their dining areas, and to lure people through their doors, firms can take advantage of new menu holders. These items can make effective accessories in eateries and there are many different versions to choose from. For example, lots of companies now opt for sleek and stylish plastic menu holders. For the best results, it is of course vital that the menus contained within these holders impress consumers.
Demand for menu holders may be high at present as new research has suggested the hospitality sector is in buoyant mood. According to the test Hospitality Employment Index report from Caterer.com and People 1st, the number of jobs in the industry is up by seven percent compared with last year and 38 percent compared with 2009.
A total of 45,000 new job adverts were posted during the second quarter of this year, the study found.
Responding to the findings, chief of the British Hospitality Association Ufi Ibrahim, said: “Few industries can match the power of hospitality to generate jobs across the entire UK. Whether in remote villages, coastal towns, northern cities, southern resorts or London – hospitality accounts for more than five per cent of total employment. Our industry has the power to generate jobs in every area in the UK. Few other industries can do the same.”
Meanwhile, Ian Burke from Caterer.com added: “As the hospitality market is highly competitive, creating a strong brand experience enables companies to differentiate themselves. Customers have increasingly come to expect this unique brand experience and naturally, this has changed employer’s recruitment attitudes and tactics. Forward thinking employers now look to recruit brand ambassadors – people who embody the feel and ethos of the company from day one and then go on to grow through focused training.”
As well as making sure they have the right personnel, restaurants may benefit from revamping their dining areas. As part of this, they can get their hands on perspex menu holders.
Increasingly, firms are heading online when they need to invest in resources like this. Shopping over the web is quick and convenient, and it can also save companies cold, hard cash. Also, companies are afforded greater choice when they peruse their options in cyberspace.
In the world of hospitality, attention to detail is crucial. Therefore, while items like menu holders may seem relatively small and insignificant, in fact they are anything but. Quality, attractive versions can form part of a cohesive overall image that helps to impress diners. Because of this, it is important that managers seek out suitable products.
